Ashley Nelson

Ashley joined Los Gatos Bicycle Racing Club in 2024
She is an active participate in Saturday training rides.
A Category 3 racer, she emphasizes road, time trial and crit riding as well as Trail and Ultra Marathons.

A remarkable athlete, she states, "In 2009 I was involved in a horrific road cycling "accident" that left me with a traumatic brain injury and a left side hemiparesis (paralysis). I never thought I would ride a bike again, let alone race one."

"In 2020, after relearning how to walk and talk again, I got back on my bike and started riding, that naturally progressed into racing. In 2021 I decided to dip my toes in and I signed up for a Time Trial and I won! So I signed up for my first road race in 12 years and I also won. I was happy just to be back on my bicycle and winning races was just extra icing on the cake."

"Besides riding a bike I am also mom, a stay at home mom, that is my full time job and I love it!"
